Irtiza Ali of Emirates Cricket Training - Dubai and Achyuth Baiju of Max Way Institute for cricket training batted brilliantly to lead their sides to wins over Sharjah Cricket Academy and Zayed Cricket Academy for whom Mohamed Nasif’s 72 run knock went in vain in the Cricket for Care Under-15 Inter Academy tournament sponsored by Shyam Bhatia and conducted by the Dubai Cricket Council at the Sevens cricket ground.
ECT Dubai batted first and the opening pair of Irtiza and Anantha Gopakumar batted with a lot of responsibility to put on 126 runs for the first wicket and set them on the way to a good score. Irtiza top scored with a superb knock of 82 runs while Anantha made 56 runs. Umar Bin Quaid 17, and Adil with 12 runs saw them to 211 runs in their 25 overs. Sharjah cricket Academy lost the top four very quickly to Talal Ifthikar and Shamoun Shah who picked up a couple of wickets each. Hassan Nisar fought back for them with a knock of 64 runs in which he hit seven fours with support from Dahim Kareem who made 21 runs. The tail committed hara-kiri with three run outs to lose by 59 runs.
In the second game Max Way scored 155 runs in their 25 overs as Oswin Crasta and Achyuth Baiju batted well for them. Oswin made 31 runs while man of the match Acyuth stroked his way to a well made knock of 59 runs. Zayed Academy who had only 17 overs as they were delayed due to a flat tire, fought hard with Nasif and Mohammed Riyan trying their best but to reach the score in 17 overs but fell short in their essay by just 13 runs. Nasif played a brilliant knock of 72 runs while Riyan made 44 runs.
